Holy Craplet! Its an Apple Tablet!

-
The long rumored Apple Tablet is rumored to become real very soon.
-
Apple is rumored to announce the realness of the tablet at the end of January.
-
Rumors have it that the rumored tablet, rumored to be announced in January, will be released in March.
-
I heard it from a friend, who heard it from their cousin that the rumored Apple tablet will be shiny, have the letter "i" in front of whatever they end up calling it, and be way overpriced.
-
This tidbit was heard through the grapevine: "I am so excited to buy one, I'm going to start waiting in line now. I'll be ok though, cause I'll have my iPod Touch for entertainment and my iPhone to make calls to order Jimmy Johns" -Every trendy person
http://www.infoworld.com/d/mobilize/will-ballmer-unveil-tablet-computer-apple-378
-
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will announce a multimedia tablet computer on Wednesday to be made by Hewlett-Packard, before the rumored announcement about the rumored Apple tablet.
-
Ballmer will show the device, which is not yet named but will combine multitouch and e-reader functions, the report said. HP will make the device and it could be available mid-year, it said.

Nexus Chat

-
"Google's ultimate goal is to create a business plan where top-notch Android phones are created by companies like Motorola and HTC and then sold through a virtual mall of sorts where carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon have to compete for your business."
-
"Rubin said during a question-and-answer session following Tuesday's event that Google has to be in the game before it can start shaking up the market."
http://www.infoworld.com/d/mobilize/why-google-has-blown-it-nexus-one-268?page=0,1
-
Google has blown it with the Nexus One!
-
"Instead of developing a trimode "world phone" that runs on CDMA networks and both types of GSM networks -- something that already exists and thus needed no new development -- Google is following the standard device-makers' approach of building a separate unit for each carrier, which prevents device portability."
-
"Google's spokesmen danced around the portability issue in their Nexus One press briefing, just saying they hoped to increase customer choice over time."
I am the Gatekeeper, are you the Keymaster?
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/28/opinion/28raff.html?_r=2
-
Opinion piece from the New York Times, there should be search neutrality as well as net neutrality
-
“search neutrality”: the principle that search engines should have no editorial policies other than that their results be comprehensive, impartial and based solely on relevance.
-
"Because of its domination of the global search market and ability to penalize competitors while placing its own services at the top of its search results, Google has a virtually unassailable competitive advantage."
-
"Without search neutrality rules to constrain Google’s competitive advantage, we may be heading toward a bleakly uniform world of Google Everything — Google Travel, Google Finance, Google Insurance, Google Real Estate, Google Telecoms and, of course, Google Books."
Discussion
-
Does this guy have a point, or is he just bitter about his company getting listed far down in Google's search results?
-
Is it unfair that Google puts its own services at the top of search results, or is that to be expected since they offer those services?
-
Google does proclaim to be unbiased in its search results, why then do they "punish" websites as this writer claims?
-
Does "net neutrality" need to go beyond the role of ISPs play in the Internet?
The meek shall inherit the GodMode

"The newborn ibex kid died shortly after birth due to physical defects in its lungs. Other cloned animals, including sheep, have been born with similar lung defects.
